*Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Aiton) Hasskarl var. tomentosa. Common name: Rose Myrtle, Downy Myrtle, Downy Rosemyrtle, Isenberg-bush. Phenology: Mar-Jun. Habitat: Pine flatwoods, other natural and disturbed habitats. An emerging invasive of (at least currently) sw. FL. Distribution: Native of s. China, se. Asia, and the Philippines.

Origin/Endemic status: E. and se. Asia

Taxonomy Comments: Var. parviflora Craib is not known in our region; it is native to India and Sri Lanka.

Synonymy : Myrtus tomentosa Aiton = Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Aiton) Hassk. var. tomentosus — FNA10; < Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Aiton) Hassk. — Fl4, K4, SFla, WH3, Wilson (1960c). Basionym: Myrtus tomentosa Aiton 1789
