*Jatropha gossypiifolia Linnaeus. Common name: Bellyache Bush, Tatto Bush. Phenology: Jan-Dec. Habitat: Disturbed areas. Distribution: Native of tropical America, now widely distributed in the New World and Old World tropics.
Origin/Endemic status: Neotropics
Taxonomy Comments: "It is a complex species with more than 40 described varieties, subspecies, and forms, some of which are sometimes considered distinct species" (Dehgan 2016).
