Mimosa

not marked as a favorite taxon Mimosa strigillosa Torrey & A. Gray. Common name: Powderpuff Mimosa, Vergonzosa. Phenology: Apr-Nov; May-Nov. Habitat: Floodplain forests, sandbars, open wet areas, lawns, and roadsides; also cultivated. Distribution: E. Georgia south to Florida, west to Texas and ne. Mexico (Chihuahua, San Luis Potosí, Tamaulipas); South America. It might be expected in se. South Carolina.
