Nellica liebmanniana (Müller of Aargau) Bouman ssp. platylepis (Small) G.A. Levin & Weakley. Phenology: Late Mar-late Jun. Habitat: Wet hammocks and pine flatwoods. Distribution: Endemic to the "Big Bend" area of the FL Gulf Coast (Dixie, Lafayette, Levy, and Taylor counties).

Taxonomy Comments: Apparently closely related to P. liebmannianus ssp. liebmannianus of the southwestern Gulf Coast (Tamaulipas south to Yucatan and Belize).
