not marked as a favorite taxon Bommeria hispida (Mettenius ex Kuhn) Underwood. Common name: Hispid Bommer Fern, Copper Fern, Hairy Bommer. Phenology: Jun-Oct. Habitat: Exposed rock. Distribution: W. TX, NM, and AZ south to Mexico (many states); Nicaragua; disjunct in w. SC on a rock cut from 1961 (see McMillan et al. [2018] for details of the discovery of this species in our area.
