Helenium elegans A.P. de Candolle. Phenology: May. Habitat: Calcareous soils, ditches, washes, along streams; eastwards in waste areas around wool-combing mill, perhaps only a waif. Distribution: Sw. AR and s. OK south to sc. TX. See Nesom (2004d).
