Habitat: Grown for ornament in moist shady areas, beginning to naturalize near plantings. Distribution: Native of e. Asia (Japan, China, Korea). Naturalizing from horticultural use, and potentially invasive in moist forests.

ID notes: Corydalis heterocarpa has larger and less finely divided leaves than our common native Corydalis species. It also has a conspicuous purplish blaze on the upper petal.
