Uvularia grandiflora J.E. Smith. Section: Uvularia. Common name: Large-flowered Bellwort. Phenology: Mid Apr-mid May; Jul-Aug. Habitat: Cove forests and other moist, rich, forested sites. Distribution: S. QC west to ND, south to w. NC, w. SC, n. GA, c. AL, MS, c. AR, and e. OK.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Stems: Stems 1 or more from single root crown, smooth, branched and bearing 1-2 leaves below the branches.

Leaves: Leaves pierced by stem, elliptic to oval, drooping, smooth above and white-hairy below.

Inforescence:

Flowers: Flowers 1-3 per stem/branch, golden-yellow, 1-2 in. long, dangling on pendant stalks, consisting of 6 slightly twisted tepals with smooth inner surfaces.

Fruits: Fruit an oval, 3-lobed capsule (triangular in cross-section).
