Cyperus croceus Vahl. Common name: Baldwin’s Flatsedge. Phenology: Jul-Oct. Habitat: Pine savannas, pine flatwoods, disturbed areas. Distribution: NJ and MO south through the New World tropics.

Taxonomy Comments: See Carter and Kral (1990) for clarification of nomenclature. Circumscription and identification are complicated by introgression, especially with C. retrorsus (Carter in prep.).
