Crataegus jesupii Sargent. Common name: Jesup's Hawthorn. Phenology: May; Sep-Oct. Habitat: Thickets, thin woodlands. Distribution: CT, ON, MI,WI south to PA and OH.
ID notes: The slightly elliptical or pyriform fruit and sharply lobed, ovate-trullate leaves are marginally distinctive.

Taxonomy Comments: Possibly of interserial hybrid origin involving a Pruinosae parent; allied to the Populneae series by Phipps (2014d).
