Spermolepis diffusa (Nuttall ex A.P. de Candolle) Nesom. Phenology: Apr-May (-Jun). Habitat: Sandy clay, sand, roadsides, fencerows, fields, pastures, dunes and sandy hills, thin soil under oak-juniper, sandy soil in longleaf pine, pine, oak-pine, oak-hickory, post oak, and post oak-blackjack oak woods, lake shores. Distribution: Se. MO, n. AR, and KS south to s. LA and sc. TX.
