Scutellaria elliptica Muhlenberg var. glandulosa J.L. Collins ex D.B. Poindexter. Common name: Ozark Skullcap. Phenology: Early May-late Jun. Habitat: Dry to moist, rocky forests. Distribution: E. and c. MO and e. KS south to sc. AR and se. OK.
ID notes: Scutellaria elliptica can be confused with S. ovata; S. ovata has all leaves cordate, while S. elliptica only the lowermost are cordate.
