Quadrella jamaicensis (Jacquin) J. Presl. Common name: Jamaica Caper. Phenology: Mar-Aug; Jun-Oct. Habitat: Coastal berms, maritime hammocks, rockland hammocks, shell mounds, disturbed uplands. Distribution: FL peninsula; West Indies (Cuba, Jamaica, Swan and Cayman Islands, Hispaniola).
Origin/Endemic status: Native
Taxonomy Comments: This species is closely related to Q. cynophallophora, with which it is sometimes combined (see synonymy); the most recent monographers (Iltis & Cornejo 2010a; Iltis & Cornejo 2010b) maintain it as separate.
