*Begonia cucullata Willdenow. Common name: Wax Begonia, Club Begonia. Phenology: Jan-Dec. Habitat: Hydric hammocks, mesic hammocks, streamsides, floodplain swamps, disturbed places. Distribution: Native of South America. Escaped or persistent in e. GA (Jones and Coile 1988) and AL (Woods & Diamond 2006), south to Panhandle FL, ne. FL (Wunderlin & Hansen 2004) and s. peninsular FL.
