not marked as a favorite taxon *Petasites japonicus (Siebold & Zuccarini) Maximowicz. Common name: Japanese Sweet-coltsfoot, Giant Butterbur. Phenology: Jan-May. Habitat: Suburban areas. Distribution: Native of e. Asia. Used horticulturally especially in the northern parts of our region, and long persistent in places not obviously cultivated.
