*Cassia afrofistula Brenan. Common name: Kenyan Shower. Phenology: May-Jun (Aug). Habitat: Cultivated as an ornamental and persistent. Distribution: Native of e. Africa and Madagascar.

Origin/Endemic status: Subsaharan Africa

Synonymy : = FNA11.1, K4, NS, POWO, SE3, Isely (1975); < Cassia fistula L. — Irwin & Barneby (1982). Basionym: Cassia afrofistula Brenan 1958
