Taxonomy Comments: As circumscribed broadly, Palhinhaea cernua has a very wide distribution, but there are indications that it is likely a complex of semicryptic species.
Other Comments: Some of the occurrences in our area may be adventive and of short duration. MacRoberts et al. (2018) report on occurrences of this species in LA, e. TX, and s. AR.
