Gymnopogon ambiguus (Michaux) Britton, Sterns, & Poggenburg. Common name: Eastern Skeleton Grass, Eastern Beard Grass. Phenology: Aug-Nov. Habitat: Prairies, glades, barrens, dry pinelands and woodlands, dry fields. Distribution: S. NJ west to KY, OH, and MO, south to s. FL and c. TX.
