*Micropyrum tenellum (Linnaeus) Link. Common name: Gravel Fescue. Phenology: Apr. Habitat: Hudsonia tomentosa flats, ocean dunes. Distribution: Native of Mediterranean w. Europe. Discovered naturalized at Island Beach State Park, Ocean County, NJ by Linda Kelly in 2022.

Origin/Endemic status: Mediterranean Europe and Africa

Synonymy : = Brachypodium tenellum (L.) P.Beauv.; = Catapodium tenellum (L.) Batt. & Trab.; = Festuca lachenalii Spenn. Basionym: Triticum tenellum L. 1759
