*Clematis viticella Linnaeus. Common name: Italian Clematis, European Purple Clematis. Habitat: Disturbed areas, persistent after cultivation. Distribution: Native of Mediterranean Europe. Reported for TN (Small 1913a; Pringle in FNA 1997).

Origin/Endemic status: Mediterranean Europe and Africa
