Goodyera tesselata Loddiges. Common name: Checkered Rattlesnake-plantain. Phenology: Jul-early Sep. Habitat: Mixed deciduous and pine woods. Distribution: NL (Newfoundland) and MB south to NJ, MD, PA, n. OH, MI, WI, and MN

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: Probably an allopolyploid, derived from G. oblongifolia × repens.
