Eleocharis bifida S.G. Smith. Subgenus: Eleocharis. Section: Eleocharis. Series: Eleocharis. Subseries: Truncatae. Common name: Cedar Glade Spikerush. Habitat: Seasonally wet seepage in limestone glades. Distribution: KY and w. VA south through TN to nw. GA and n. AL. Known from a single collection in VA (Rockbridge County); and otherwise primarily occurs in KY and TN and adjacent areas of surrounding states.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: This species has trifid styles; the species epithet "bifida" refers to the bifid apex of the spikelet scales.
