Fothergilla milleri W.D. Phillips & J.E. Haynes. Common name: Miller's Witch-alder. Phenology: Mar-May; Sep-Oct. Habitat: Seepy, acid wetlands. Distribution: Coastal Plain of wc. GA (Taylor County), s. AL (Baldwin, Covington, Escambia, Geneva counties), and Panhandle FL (Okaloosa, Walton counties).
Origin/Endemic status: Endemic
Taxonomy Comments: See Haynes et al. (2020) for detail. A diploid species (2n=2x=24), and apparently involved as a parental lineage of both F. gardenii and F. major.
