Pappophorum mucronulatum Nees. Common name: Whiplash Pappus Grass. Phenology: Apr-Oct. Habitat: Rio Grande plains; and eastwards as a ballast waif. Distribution: S. TX, s. NM, and s. AZ south into Mexico.
