*Symplocos paniculata (Thunberg) Miquel. Common name: Sapphire-berry, Asiatic Sweetleaf. Phenology: May. Habitat: Suburban woodlands, spreading from horticultural use. Distribution: Native of e. Asia. Spreading from plantings in the northern part of our region, such as DE, DC (Whittemore 2003), and others.
