Nothoscordum bivalve (Linnaeus) Britton. Grace Garlic, False Garlic, Crow Poison. Phen: Mid Mar-mid May, and again in Sep-Dec; May-Jun, and again in Oct-Jan. Hab: Around granite flatrocks, in glades and barrens of various kinds, in open woodlands, prairies, and also weedy in fields and along roadsides. Dist: Se. VA west to s. OH and KS, south to c. peninsular FL, TX, and South America.
ID notes: An onion-like plant in general appearance (with a membrane-coated, onion-like bulb), but lacking the odor of onion.
