Habitat: Rocky bluffs, especially calcareous or mafic, open woodlands, calcareous Coastal Plain river bluffs, granitic domes. Distribution: New Jersey, w. New York, Michigan, s. Wisconsin, and Nebraska south to c. peninsular Florida, c. Alabama, c. Mississippi, e. and s. Texas.
