Hab: Prairies, wet meadows, swamps, and (in VA) rocky, disturbed areas (powerline) over mafic rocks (diabase). Dist: Circumboreal, ranging south in North America to n. VA (Fairfax County), n. WV (Morton et al. 2004), MO, and CA.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Synonymy: = FNA5, Il, K1, K3, K4, Mi, NE, NY, Pa, Va; = Arenaria lateriflora L. – C, F, G, GrPl, Maguire (1951)
