Iliamna remota Greene. Kankakee Globe-mallow. Phen: Jun-Aug; Jul-Oct. Hab: Shores and gravel bars along rivers, and along railroad embankments. Dist: W. VA; nw. IN and ne. IL.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Other Comments: Considered by some to be introduced only in our area, however, the VA populations are genetically different than those in IN and IL (Bodo Slotta & Porter 2006).

Synonymy: = F, FNA6, Il, K4, Va, Bodo Slotta & Porter (2006), Porter & Wieboldt (1991); = Sphaeralcea remota (Greene) Fernald; < Iliamna remota Greene – C, G, W; < Iliamna rivularis (Douglas ex Hook.) Greene var. rivularis – K1
