*Thespesia populnea (Linnaeus) Solander ex Corrêa. Common name: Portia-tree, Seaside Mahoe. Phenology: Jan-Dec. Habitat: Coastal strands, coastal berms, hammocks, disturbed areas. Distribution: Native of tropical Asia.

Origin/Endemic status: Paleotropics

Synonymy : = Bah, Fl4, FNA6, K4, NS, POWO, S, S13, WH3, WI; Hibiscus populneus Linnaeus. Basionym: Hibiscus populneus L. 1753
