Leptogramma burksiorum (J.E. Watkins & D.R. Farrar) Y.H. Chang & L.Y. Kuo. Alabama Streak-sorus Fern. Hab: Moist sandstone grottoes. Dist: A narrow endemic of nc. AL.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: Watkins & Farrar (2002, 2005) present evidence for its recognition as a species distinct from Thelypteris pilosa and discuss its likely evolution as an ancient relictual taxon. With the splitting of Thelypteris into smaller genera, this taxon has moved to Stegnogramma and now Leptogramma (Weakley 2011, Kuo et al. 2019).

Synonymy : = Fawcett & Smith (2021), Kuo et al (2019a); = Stegnogramma burksiorum (J.E.Watkins & Farrar) Weakley – K3, K4, Weakley et al (2011); = Stegnogramma pilosa (M.Martens & Galeotti) K.Iwats. var. alabamensis (Crawford) K.Iwats.; = Thelypteris burksiorum J.E.Watkins & Farrar; = Thelypteris pilosa (M.Martens & Galeotti) Crawford var. alabamensis Crawford – FNA2, K1; < Thelypteris pilosa (M.Martens & Galeotti) Crawford – Meso1
