Taxonomy Comments: Presumed to reproduce apogamously, and sometimes found outside the modern distribution of one or both parents (Pryer 1993).

Synonymy : = Can, FNA2, K4, NS, POWO; = Gymnocarpium disjunctum × dryopteris — NY; = Gymnocarpium dryopteris (L.) Newman; = Gymnocarpium dryopteris (L.) Newman. Basionym: Gymnocarpium ×achriosporum Sarvela 1978
