Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Other Comments: It is one of three subspecies of A. maritima, each endemic to a small area – ssp. maritima of the Delmarva Peninsula of MD and DE, ssp. georgiensis Schrader & Graves of nw. GA, and ssp. oklahomensis Schrader & Graves of sc. OK. The closest relatives of A. maritima are in Asia.
