Bulbostylis warei (Torrey) C.B. Clarke. Common name: Ware's Hairsedge. Phenology: Jul-Oct. Habitat: Longleaf pine sandhills, dry pine flatwoods, dunes, Florida scrub. Distribution: Se. NC south to s. FL and west to s. AL.
ID notes: Bulbostylis warei is similar to B. stenophylla and B. barbata in having a single dense head atop each stem, but the inflorescence bracts are fimbriate at the base and flower scales are ciliate at the tip.
