Manilkara jaimiqui (C. Wright ex Grisebach) Dubard ssp. emarginata (Linnaeus) Cronquist. Common name: Wild Dilly. Phenology: Jan-Dec. Habitat: Rockland hammocks, pine rocklands, coastal berms, shell mounds. Distribution: S. Florida (Miami-Dade, Monroe, Collier counties); Bahamas.
Origin/Endemic status: Native
Taxonomy Comments: As usually interpreted since Cronquist (1945), M. jaimiqui consists of four subspecies variously distributed in the West Indies. The complex is in need of a modern reappraisal, and our taxon may well warrant specific rank, in which case the name is M. emarginata s.s. (see synonymy).
