Melochia tomentosa Linnaeus var. tomentosa . Common name: Teabush, Woolly Pyramidbush, Velvety Melochia, Broomwood. Phenology: Jun-Sep. Habitat: Pine rocklands (FL), open subtropical woodlands and brushlands (TX). Distribution: S. FL (where perhaps extirpated); West Indies; s. Texas, Mexico, Central America, and South America.
