Sphaeralcea coccinea (Nuttall) Rydberg var. coccinea . Common name: Scarlet Globe-mallow, Cowboy's Delights. Phenology: Apr-Aug (-Oct). Habitat: Sandy and gravelly open areas, roadsides. Distribution: MB west to BC, south to TX, NM, AZ, and n. Mexico (CHH, NLE).
