Polygonella

Polygonella basiramia (Small) Nesom & V.M. Bates. Common name: Florida Jointweed, Tufted Wireweed. Phenology: Aug-Oct. Habitat: Florida scrub. Naturally occurring in white sand gaps of rosemary (Ceratiola ericoides) scrub, but often also occurring abundantly along adjacent firelanes and artificial sand openings. Distribution: Endemic to c. FL (Polk and Highlands counties).

Other Comments: Primarily occurring on the Lake Wales Ridge, Bombing Range Ridge, and northward to the Winter Haven Ridge of c. FL.
