Astragalus

not marked as a favorite taxon Astragalus soxmaniorum Lundell. Common name: Soxmans' Milkvetch. Phenology: Mar-May. Habitat: Longleaf pinelands, other sandy forests and woodlands, adjacent roadbanks. Distribution: S. Arkansas south to w. Louisiana and e. Texas. This species is rare throughout its range and often disappears for many years before reappearing in response to unknown favorable conditions (E. Keith, pers. obs.).
