plant sale text: Long-bristle Indiangrass has a graceful appearance, particularly thanks to the long hair, called an awn, at the very tip of the seed. The seeds are a dark lustrous brown and are surrounded by hairs that are nearly glossy black. During the growing season, the attractive greens and blues of the foliage compliment one another. As the plant begins to go dormant, shades of reds sometimes tinge the tips of leaves. Late into fall, the leaves tan and take the golden look typical of most warm-season grasses.
