Zanthoxylum spinosum (Swartz) Swartz. Common name: Leathery Prickly-ash, Doctor’s-club, Biscayne Prickly-ash. Phenology: Feb-Jul and Nov-Jan; May-Oct and Jan-Mar Habitat: Maritime hammocks. Distribution: S. FL (Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe counties); West Indies (Bahamas, Cuba, Hispaniola, Cayman Islands).
