not marked as a favorite taxon *Syngonium podophyllum Schott var. podophyllum. Common name: American-evergreen. Habitat: Disturbed hammocks, suburban woodlands, from horticultural use. Distribution: Native of Central America.

Origin/Endemic status: Neotropics

Other Comments: Often grown as a houseplant, and then usually staying in its juvenile leaf form (trifoliolate), but developing into a climbing liana. Var. peliocladum is known from Costa Rica and Panama (Croat 1981).
