Rhus virens Lindheimer ex A. Gray var. virens . Subgenus: Lobadium. Common name: Evergreen Sumac, Lentisco. Phenology: Aug-Oct. Habitat: Open areas, especially on limestone. Distribution: C. and se. TX west to s. NM, south to sc. Mexico.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: Broadly conceived, to include Rhus choriophylla (= R. virens var. choriophylla). Var. australis B.L. Turner occurs in s. Mexico.
