*Rhamnus Linnaeus. Common name: Buckthorn.
A genus of ca. 150 species, trees and shrubs, of the northern hemisphere. The recognition of Frangula as separate from Rhamnus is supported by molecular phylogeny (Bolmgren & Oxelman 2004).
