not marked as a favorite taxon Lythrum ovalifolium (A. Gray) Engelmann ex Koehne. Common name: Low Loosestrife. Phenology: Apr-Jun. Habitat: In and along streams and rivers. Distribution: Very nearly a strict endemic to the Edwards Plateau of Texas, barely if at all entering our region at the western extreme along the Balcones Escarpment.
