Limosella australis R. Brown. Common name: Mudwort, Awl-leaf. Phenology: Jun-Sep. Habitat: Fresh or slightly brackish tidal flats. Distribution: NL (Newfoundland) and QC south along the Atlantic Coast to se. VA and extreme ne. NC (Currituck and Dare counties).
ID notes: This plant is very inconspicuous, though locally abundant.
