Vachellia rigidula (Bentham) Seigler & Ebinger. Common name: Chaparro Prieto, Blackbrush, Blackbrush Acacia. Phenology: Feb-Jul. Habitat: Scrub on sandy loam or calcareous soils. Distribution: S. and sw. TX south to Mexico.
ID notes: The inflorescences are cylindrical and white to cream-colored.
