not marked as a favorite taxon Carex atherodes Sprengel. Common name: Awned Sedge. Phenology: May-Jun. Habitat: Marl fens, bottomland prairies, wet meadows, marshes. Distribution: Circumboreal, south in North America to New York, n. Virginia, n. West Virginia, Missouri, Colorado, Utah, and Oregon.
