*Calotropis procera (Aiton) W.T. Aiton. Common name: Roostertree, Giant Milkweed, Wild Cottondown, St. Thomas-bush. Habitat: Disturbed areas. Distribution: Native of Africa and Asia. Collected only twice near Apollo Beach in Tampa Bay (Hillsborough County, FL; Wunderlin et al. 2024).

Origin/Endemic status: Paleotropics

Synonymy : = Bah, Fl5, FNA14, K4, Meso4.1; = Asclepias procera Aiton. Basionym: Asclepias procera Aiton 1789
