Cotinus P. Miller. Common name: Smoketree.
A genus of 4-8 species, of se. and sc. North America and temperate Eurasia.
Subfamily: Anacardioideae.ID notes: The inflorescence often consists of mostly villous pedicels with the exception being those formed beneath mature drupes; these are conspicuous and aid in wind dispersal (Pell et al. 2024).
